SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.
Miss K. Nichols was the hostess at the Sailors' Friend Society on Tuesday. She had made wonderful provision for her sailor guests, and they were insistent in their recalls. The performers were Mesdames Aplin and Metcalf, Misses Walker, Fordham, Clifford, R. Nichols, Messrs. Pumphery, Naylor, Mackie, and Jones. Mrs. Metcal" was at . the piano. The hostess aud her helpers waited on the guests in the supper interval. Mr. J. Moore, niissioner, spoke on "Why This Waste?" Prizes for the competitions came from Karori.
