FALLING REVENUE
BUSES AND TRAMS
The Wellington Ratepayers' Association last evening decided that as revenue from the trams and buses is diminishing, attention be drawn to-the reduced tram, service to Oriental Bay— during the fiay—ana the penalising of would-be bus passengers who may'have missed a tram but prefer "towalk rather than pay threepence to riae one section in "a bus that may perhaps*bo half "empty.
It was suggested that in- preference to i what appeared to" be ■ running ■ the trams jn opposition ;to' the 'buses -it would be more •remunerative to make Oriental Bay tram, terminus tho starting point for'buses to Roseneath, Kilbirnio, and Ilataitai; in other words, to permit tho buses to act as-feeders to tho trams in place-of running buses alongside the trams and expecting both services to. pay.
