SEARCH FOR GOLD

GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE

The determination of the Government to encourage gold prospectiiig to the greatest possible extent was expressed by the Minister of Mines (the Hon. D. Jones) in the House of Representatives last night. •Mr. Jones said a great deal of interest had been shown in gold prospecting in recent months. Members need have no fear that the- money which had been voted would not be spent; so far as he was concerned it would be overspent, and he hoped to have more money available later on. It was interesting to note that the amount of gold sold last month was £10,000 worth more than the corresponding month last year*
