MANAWATU SPRING SHOW
RECORD ENTRIES RECEIVED
There is every indication that this year's Spring Show of the Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association, which Js to tako placo on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday o£ next week at Palmerston North, will be one of the most successful shows of recent times. Prom tho point of view of entries, tho show should be most successful. In two classes at least —sheep and pigs—there have been marked increases. Tho sheep figures, excluding those for a Royal Show, are stated to be a record, and for pigs a New Zealand record for an ordinary show is claimed. Tho notable increases this year are in. ring competitions, dairy cattle, Bcmnoys, Southdowns, Ryelands, and in the fat sheep and lamb classes. Piga are becoming one of the features of the Spring Show. Iv all other respects steps aro being taken to make tho show attractive as well as educational. On Wednesday and Thursday afternoons there will be steer riding, and those who saw this on previous occasions know how amusing it is from tho spectators' point of view. On Thursday evening there is to be a speedway meeting, and on Friday afternoon thero will be dog racing. The culminating point will be the grand parade Uic same afternoon.
