EMPIRE CONFERENCE
PROPOSAL WELCOMED
TIMES FAVOURABLE
(Received 30th October, 2 p.m.) . LONDON, 29th October. The proposals of Messrs. Bennett and Forbes to call an Imperial Conference are welcomed by business men. "Trade agreements were never moro urgently necessary," declared Lord Elibank, chairman of the Federation of Empire Chambers of Commerce. "The conditions were never more favourable for the Federation to continue to do its utmost to promote Imperial preference."
