OTTAWA CONFEEENCE

BENNETT REVIVES, IDEA.

OTTAWA, 28th' October. The Canadian Government will propose to the various Empire; Governmonts that tho Imperial Economic Conference, the assembling' of which was postponed last August, should meet at Ottawa at the earliest possible date. This announcement was made by the Prime Minister, Mr. E. B. Bennett,, in a statement in which he expressed the hope that the former difficulties surrounding the plan of holding a conference at the Canadian capital were now removed. Ho said: "This Government is confident that the conference will achieve < an enduring plan of closer economic association. The need for such an association was never more urgent,' its benefits never more apparent. Canada will do its full share to bring it about."
