ELECTORS DUPED
SO HENDERSON SAYS
LABOUR WILL RISE AGAIN
LONDON, 28th October. "The electors have been duped on a grand scale, and my Ministerial colleagues and old friends have fallen victims to an election plot repeating the worst features of tho coupon campaign," declared Mr. Arthur Henderson.
Labour, he said, had suffered a severe set-back, but it was not broken or discredited.
"Our total vote," ho continued, "proves the bedrock strength of the constituencies;' Tho House will bo a mockery of democratic representation, ;ind the absence of an effoetivo Official Opposition will uudormino faith in Farlinmentary- institutions. "The panic-stricken electors slam-
peded to an extent unparalleled in British politics. Labour, as the only effective bulwark against reaction and revolution, will go on undeterred by the temporary setback and will rise more vigorous than ever."
