PRESENTATION OF CUP
GOLF CABARET EVENING
It was a happy thought that prompted the Watt Cup Committee to vnako a cabaret function of the presentation ceremony to tho Titahi Golf Club, the season's winners of tho coveted trophy. This took place in the Adclphi last evening. Tlie combined minor golf clubs were represented by men and women members who spent a delightful evening, for excellent arrangements had been made for the enjoyment of guests. Included in tho representation were Miramar, Hutt, Shandon, Manor Park, Titahi Bay, Waiwetu, and Paekakariki Clubs. The committee comprised Messrs. P. C. "Watt (chairman, donor of the handsome silver cup), Anderson (Paekakariki), H. Firth (AVaiwetu), Crombie (Titahi), J. L. Barnard (Manor. Park), and J. W. Forgio (Shandon), the last two named joint secretaries. Miss G. Upham, winner of Miramar ladies' championship, who was present, was toasted by the committee and congratulated on her win. Tho cup was handed to Mr. S. Brice, president of Titahi Club, by Mr. Watt himself. Mr. Watt traced the history of the competition leading to Titahi's win with 57-J points, Manor Park being second with 56}, Waiwetu third with 53J, Shandon fourth with 51}, and Paekakariki fifth with 321. He paid a special tribute to tho memory of an old and esteemed friend in the late Mr. William Whitehcad, who, lie said, was largely responsible for originating the scheme.
