BOXING.
From time to time suggestions have been made that the various provincial bosing associations should arrange inter-pro-vincial contests on tho same lines as Rugby and other games are promoted between the different provinces. As a result of negotiations between Wellington and Canterbury arrangements have been finalised for the visit of a championship team from Christehurch to meet the elect of Wellington at the John Street Stadium on Wednesday next. Seven contests will be staged, the following being the drawingn (Canterbury names being mentioned first):—Flyweight, Johnston v. Allott: bantam-weight, Davey v. R. Woods, Fisher v. Finnegan; feather-weight, Hawes v. J. Donoghue. Overend v. Higgs; lightweight, Lester v. Goo. Thomas; welter-weight, Fail v. Mansfield. Au additional attraction is a special eight-round professional contest betwoen Clarrie Wood and 11. Larson, two local boys who, after numerous successes in the amateur ranks, will be making their first appearance here in the professional ranks.
