WAR RELIEF ASSOCIATION
The executive committee of the Wellington War Eelief Association yesterday, Mr. L. O. 11. Tripp presiding. Others present were Messrs. A. Macintosh, Clement Watson, C. M. Luke, G. Mitchell, and D. M'Laren.
Tho Emergency Committee reported that since 14th September it had dealt with I^6 claims, all of which were confirmed by the Applications Committee. The latter committee had disposed of. 200 applications, of which 69 were claims from those who had not previously approached the fund. There wore lOf) applications still under review. The total number of claims received was 399, which was 70 per cent, more than for the corresponding period last year.
The Finance Committee reported that it had dealt ■with six applications for loans. Three were old applications requiring revision of the original conditions, and three were new applications, and as none of them disclosed any evidence of war disability, all irere declined.
