CAPTAINS OF INDUSTRY
* FEDERAL CO-OPERATION FUNDS TO FIND CHRISTMAS WORK
(.Received 27th October, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Tho Prime Minister announces that tho Federal Government is anxious to co-operate with the captains of industry in finding work for as many men aa possible before Christmas. He discussed the question with businessmen in Sydney,iand intimated that, the Government was prepared to provide a quarter of a million. Mr. Fordo (Minister of Customs) intimates that ho has so far been unable to look into the proposal made early tills month by a Melbourne delegation for closer trade relations between Australia, and Now Zealand, but would do so after tho House of Kepiesciitalives adjourned this week.
