; STRONG POLICE GUARDS

SYDNEY, 20lh October. Following rumours that Communists intended to demonstrate, in force, strong police guards were placed at the wharf gates when the Orungal arrived this forenoon from Brisbane. Tho passengers and cargo were landed without incident. Street idlers wore kept moving in order to prevent, trouble-making. The crew of the Orungal told the officers that they had no sympathy with tho strike.
