LOS ANGELES, Mth October. Asa Keyes, famous District Attorney, who has sent many thousands of men' to gaol, does not believe now that a term iv prison over helped anybody. Keyes is freo again after having served a year's sentence for accepting bribes. "Prison certainly didn't help me spiritually, morally, or physically," he says, "but I am afraid that there is no" substitute for it. They arc building them bigger and better than ever. "Lack of education is what is rilling prisons," ho added. "Yon would be surprised at the number of prisoners who can neither read nor write,"
