ROSE IN BROOKLYN RUN
Northland was again the starting point tor the Brooklyn Club's weekly outing, and some 38 members took part in a run ot seven miles over hills and bitumen roads. The trail led down through the JNorthland tunnel, over Main Karori road and up the zig-zag to Messines road, where it turned southward until it reached the bottom of the valley of the old Karori golt links; here it bore off to the upper end of Duthie street, where it made a diagonal ascent of the South Karori hills, and then followed the ridge along muddy tracks, through gorse and broom, and down to houth Karori road, where it turned north again to return home, via the tram route. The trail-layers were A. Naulls, JN. fcswain, L. Ashton, and G. Tyre The runners were divided into five small packs, ilie last pack to leave was favoured with the company of R. A. Rose, the wellknown Jsew Zealand distance runner, who ran with ease throughout. Rose was at one time an active member of the Brooklyn Club, and the present club members appreciated his company and participation in their held activities. After the run the men were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. H Rose at afternoon tea. Mr N. Simllie, club captain, thanked the host and hostess.
