PLIMMERTON BOWLING CLUB
■ ♦ —. Th 6 animal general meeting of the Plimmerton Bowling, Croquet, an 4 Tennis Club was held in the St. Andrew's Hall, Plimmerton, recently. The meeting, being well attended, was thoroughly representative of the club's three branches. Mr. John Wright, who occupied the chair, in his opening remarks welcomed and introduced'the new secretary, Mr. O. M. Lane, and paid a glowing tribute to the excellent manner in which the former secretary, Mr.-D. A. Glover, had performed his duties. Mr. Glover leaves next August for Samoa, where he will take up duties at the Chief • Post-. Office of that place. v . ■' ■ . Mr. Wright stated that the annual report and balance-sheet presented to the meeting was a credit to all; The club had good reason to be pleased with the improvement in the annual balance, despite the instability of> economic conditions. The report showed that in all matters the club had shown definite progress. The report was adopted. Appreciation > was expressed by members of the Work done'by Mr. Wright, the retiring president, who had been largely responsible for the club's rapid progress. Reference was also made to' the- fact/ that Mr. J. W. Bramwell. journeyed 100 miles monthly to attend executive meetings. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. Wm. Amon; vice-president, Mr. John Wright; honorary secretary, Mr. O. M. Lane; hon. treasurer, Mr. Q. Neale; executive : committee, Messrs. J. A. Walker, F. Barlow, J. W. Bramwell, E. A. Pickering, and A.' J. Edgington.
