The duty is 32 per cent, ad valorem, which works out at approximately 3s a ease, and selling charges usually average Is (3d a case. After considering representations from the Nelson branch of the Farmers;' Union, Mr. R. Teece has consented to offer himself m a candidate for the vacant seat on the Waimea County Council as representative of tho Moutere Kiding.
