RESENTMENT IN GERMANY
LONDON, 11th July. The French/ newspapers unanimously insist that, whilo Franco would liko to assist 'Germany, sho muat have both financial and political guarantees. Berlin' 3 newspapers* are equally unanimous regarding tho suggestion that Germany must ceaso her warship construction, which lias l>ccn met with such a! storm of opposition that, if carried out, would probably cause tho downfall of tlio Bruening Cabinet. The "Berlin ■■'Lokalanzciger" protests against Mr. ■ Arthur-.'Henderson playing- France's game by encouraging her "political blackmailing demands" in regard to tho cessation of warship construction.
