A'six-miles trail laid by Green, and Newsoh from Newtoivn Park was followed, by. three packs from the Wellington Club. The course' le.'l from the Park along Russell terrace up to the top of Beacon Hill, down to Houghton Bay, around to Lyall Bay, about, half-way along the beach, then , to'^the. ; Rugby Vgrounds,.. up Sutherland rbadj' arid tlown-to- the Park. The first two packs .merged just after Houghton Bay;was left, and the fast pack gathered in earlier starters at Lyall Bay. A run-in over the last. half-mile resulted: Murray, 1; M'Conchie, .2; Morris, 3; v,;,;'-v' ,: v-.,.:" -. ',v ■; .. ;
