DAWSON-HAMBOURG RECITAL
Notwithstanding the many counter-at-tractions and the winter temperature, the concluding l'ecital of that popular, combination, Peter Dawsou-Mark Hambourg, drew a large attendance to the Town Hall on Saturday evening. Both artists were in excellent form, and had a flattering reception from the opening Hambourg ] brackets to Peter Dawson's dramatic pre-! scntation of Sclruberfc'd "The, Erl King." It was a. memorable evening of tho best instrumental and vocal music, as, apart from the set programme numbers, the recitalists were characteristically generous in the matter of encprea. Each was recalled time and time again by an aiidience roused to a high pitch, of enthusiasm. The acJ companimentsf of Alan Richardson were, as usual, sympathetic and scholarly. ? As one of his numerous encores,' Mr. Peter Dawson sang a song written by two well-known Wellington women called "Land of My Heart." The nvusic is by Miss Adela Medley, Kelburn, and - the words are by Miss! Marjorie Adams, Silverstream. Mr. Dawson sang the song from the manuscript, and. it. was '. most enthusiastically received by the audience.
