CHRISTCHURCH APPEALS

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUBCH, 9th July. Six applications by unions forVhole or part exemption from the terms of the wage-reduction order were before the Arbitration Court to-day. The unions seeking exemption -were the1 Carpenters' and Joinors' Union, the Plasterers' Union, Plumbers and Gasfitters' Union, tho Metal Workers'. Assistants* Union, the Christchurch branch of the Amalgamated Engineering and Allied Trades Union, and tho Christahurch branch of the Engineering and Allied Trades Union, (electrical branch).' The Court reserved i<s decision on all the applications.
