The statement that soino men- had been advised not to pay tho unemployment levy was made in tho Houso of Representatives last night tfy the Minister'of Labour -.(the Hon. -S. G. Smith). Mr. D.- G-.' Sullivan (Labour, Avon) was speaking, and1 was stating that many mon>had found it impossible to pay the levy and could not thus bo engaged on relief works.1 . ' ■ ' ' ■ Mr. Smith: ""Many have been advised not'to pay their levy." '■ Mr. Sullivan: "Who advised them?" ■ Tho Leader of the Labour Party (Mr. H. E. Holland): "Who told you that?"
