COUNTER MOVE
RESOLUTION OF COUNCIL

SYDNEY, This Day*.
A dramatic counter move to *he: action of the Legislative Assembly was. made in the Legislative Council lastevening when Mr. F. S. Boycc obtained leave to move a motion endorsing the Council's rejection of the Emergency Income Tax Bill,'and "protecting tho people of New South YfaleS' against the-abuse of power by the rejection of this and other measures not approved of by the electors." The motion added that under ISic. bicameral constitution it is the rigiutand duty of the Governor to exercise his discretion when asked to make appointments to the Legislative Comical; also that a message to this effect lie transmitted to the Socretary of StKto for the Dominions.
Mr. Boyce-'s motion in the Legislatice Council was carried by 33 votes to 16, several Labour nominees crossing the floor to vote against the Government.
