SEARCH BEING MADE

Sinister circumstances are reported to surround the disappearance of a girl, Phyllis Rene Symons, aged 17, who has been missing from the place where she was living in Adelaide road since about 25th or 261h June. The police have reason lo suspect that she has met an untimely end, and that her body has been disposed of. In the course of investigating their suspicions a parly of detectives and police under the direction of Sub-Inspector Ward are to-day engaged in digging operations on the Town Belt in the Kilbirnie area.
