DUNEDIN ARCADE
A GARDEN COURT
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") :'■■'■•;■ * DUNEDIN, This Day. The Arcade buildings, between -High street and. Rattray street, are to' be demolished and a new .business area constructed. The present roof of the Arcade is to be removed and the buildings on each side will be reduced to one story except ai the four corners. The plans •provide ,for thirty-one shops, all finished in the modern manner. A very pleasing effect will be obtained by the use of Spanish details with mission tiled'roofs. A fairway between the .buildings is to be laid out'as a garden court. A satisfactory feature of the project is that it will stimulate local trade. and absorb a number of unemployed. v The Fletcher Construction Company has secured the contract and will work on plans prepared by Mr. H. Bl'Dowell Smith.
