SOUTHLAND AND OTAGO
(Special to "The Evening Post.")
(By Telegraph.)
' : DUNEDIN, This Day. The difficulty anticipated by some North Island Rugby unions in getting representative sides away on totir owing to the economic depression has not been experienced to any great extent by Southland, the first major union to send its team on tour this season. Fortunately, there were few defections from the original Southland selection, and a fully representative side, which will travel as far as Auckland, will leave Invercargill on Thursday. ' The cost of sending the Southland team North will amount to over £600.
An Otagoteam will go on tour also'as far as Auckland about the end of August, and it is not anticipated that much difficulty will be found in sending a strong side away. The university.students selected will be on vacation at that time.
