BRITISH SAILORS' SOCIETY.

A most enjoyable evening was spent at the rooms of the British Sailors' Society on Monday evening, when the men from the ships in port were entertained by a concert arranged by Mrs. Devereux. Items were contributed by Misses Gladys Petley, Norma and Joan Ayson, Patty and Joyce Davey, Betty Tunley, and Clarice Marten, all children of the Thorndon Normal School. Mrs. Richie was the accompanist. Supper was served at the end of a delightful programme, and the evening brought ,to a close by the singing of the National Anthem.
