HIDE AND SHEEPSKIN SALES.
Wellington brokers held their usual fortnightly sales of skins and hides on Friday. In sympathy with cabled advices of a decline in London, sheepskins were easier in price. Hides were in good demand, shippers , and cow • and light advanced Vid to 3-8 d over last sale's rates. Medium ox- were -firmer by- %d, extra heavy, ox sold at a slight advance. Yearlings and'kip" sold at par to %d higher than last sale, but calf were %d easier. The range of prices is as follows:—Dry sheepskins: Halfbred, 2%d to 3%d; fine crossbred, 3%d to 3%d; medium crossbred, 2 J/4d to 3%d; coarse crossbred, 2%d to 3%d; half wools, l%d to 3%d; quarter wools, %d to 2%d; ' pelts,r■ %d to 2%d. Salted skin's: Quarter wools, Is 7d; half wools,' ls.7d to ls'lOd; three-quarter wools, Is lOd to 2s sd; full wools, 2s 9d; lambs. 9d to Is Bd. Hides:-Ox, 331b to 441b 3%d to 4%d, 451b to 521b 3d to 4 5-Bd, 531b to 591b 4d to 4 7-Bd, 601b to 691b 4%d to 6d, ,701b and over 3d to 7 l-8d; cow, 331b to 301b 2%d to 4 3-Bd, 401b to 481b 3%d to 4 3-8 d; 491b and over 3%d to 4 3-8 d; kip, 251b to 321b 3 l-8d to 4 5-Bd, 171b to 241b 4d to sd; yearling, 111b to 161b 3d to s%'d; calf, 91b to 101b 2&d to 5%d, 61b to 81b 2%d to 6d, lib to 51b l%d to 6d. Tallow: In casks, 13s 6d; in tins, etc., 10s to 13s 6d.
