COUNSEL'S SUGGESTION
(By* Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Allegations that batteries had been bought for a few pence each and were then painted and insured for £100 were, made by counsel appearing for the Northern Assurance, Company today in a case where John Howard William Tapp claimed £100 under a policy on goods destroyed by a fire on 21st April. -The plaintiff, in his evidence, .admitted having made, mistakes in the policy proposal. Examined by counsel flor the company he refused to answer certain questions,, and declared: "Toil are suggesting that this sflre was purposely done."
Counsel: "Yes, I am." The plaintiff was . non-suited, the. Magistrate saying that the claim "vvns properly a cp.se to be dealt with, under the arbitration clause in the policy.
