ATTEMPTED ROBBERY

DUNEDIN, This Day.
By frankly stating that Rupert Saunders could have had'nothing to do with the assault on Mrs. Jaue Rossiter, Thomas .William Wilson, in the Police Court, cleared his partner of that charge in. a sensational attempt at robbery at Rossiter's shop on 11th May..
In his' original statement, Wilson declared that it was Saunders ' who knocked Mrs. Rossiter out.
' This morning both Wilsou and.Saunders pleaded guilty to assaulting Walter Gabriel Rossiter with intent to rob, while Wilson also pleaded guilty to a second charge of doing grievous bodily harm to . Jane Eossitor.. This charge against Saunders was withdrawn. Both men were committed to the Supremo Court for sentence.
