TWO VESSELS BOUGHT

THE WILLIAMSON FLEET

For. the fifth time in three years Mr. S. T. Williamson, proprietor of Williamson and Co., shipowners, Hong Kong, has journeyed to New Zealand to make arrangements for the taking over, of cargo vessels which have been sold to him by the Union. Company. The latest ships to join his fleet are the Kaituna and the Kamona, for, many years wellknown vessels in New Zealand waters.

Mr. Williamson, who arrived in Wellington this, morning by the Makura from Sydney, told a Post representative that when he has completed arrangements for the purchase of these two ships he will own. seven vessels that at one time sailed under the Union Company's flag. Recent purchases by Mr. Williamson of Union Company ships include the Kamo, which he took over eight months ago in Sydney while the vessel -was laid up, and the Kaitangata and Kaiapoi, which ho purchased in February of last . year. Altogether Mr. Williamson has a fleet of eight vessels, all of which ply along the China coast aud betweenfar eastern ports. The fleet includes two passenger ships. The Kamona is at present at Dunedm and the Kaituna at Auckland, and it is expected-that-both-vessels will clear their respective ports in about three weeks. ■ Ca.pta.in- R.- C- Creer and Mr. R. Patterson will command the ships on their long voyage to China. The Chinese crew for the Kamona arrived by tho Makura to-day, and the Kaituna's crew will arrive in Auckland to-morrow by the Ma-rama.
