BAILIFF NOT WANTED

TROUBLE IN FRANCIS PLACE

When a bailiff attempted to take possession of a house in Francis place, off Tory street, this morning, about 150 unemployed who objected to the tenants being put out made a demonstration.

The bailiff wont./to tho house with two assistants and a lorry, but when he arrived and knocked at tho door he was refused admittance. The police were sent for, and when a sergeant and four constables arrived the crowd had greatly increased. After a consultation; it was decided not to make any attempt to get the tenants out of the house in tho meantime The bailiff then'left in his lorry, and tho crowd gradually dispersed.
