WHY IT WAS REJECTED
INFLUENCES IN HOUSE
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day. The view that combined action was necessary to face the problems of the Dominion and bring about a return to prosperity was expressed by the Hon. S. G. Smith ' (Minister of Labour) at Papatoetoe on Saturday evening. The Minister said that the desired result would not be achieved if the parties in tho House fought among themselves. He did not blame- the Reform Party for rejection of Mr. Forbes Js proposal for the formation of a National Party. He knew that the Reform Party had not rejected the offer;' influences in Parliament had been responsible for its rejection.
