LOCAL SENIOR COMPETITION
Wellington, Hull, and University, maintained their unbeaten record in the local senior A grade championship competition by registering wins in the series of games played on Saturday afternoon. Conditions for play were excellent except for a northerly wind, and some good performances were recorded. The results were not without their surprises, one of which was the heavy defeat of Old Boys by Hutt. Old Boys iii their previous game had won by 30 points to nil, and on Saturday they were beaten by 29 points. Oriental registered their first championship points in no uncertain manner. The advance in form by some of the teams gives promise of further surprise results as the competition progresses.
