MONOWAI SAILS
THE DISPUTE SETTLED
After having been delayed for nearly twenty-four hours, the B.M.S. Monowai left Wellington at 7.30 p.m. yesterday for Sydney.
Tho Mohowai was originally to have sailed at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, but a dispute arose over the signing on of the crew. As the six months' period for which the crew had been, signed on had expired, it was necessary for a new set of articles to bo signed, and as it was not proposed to include throe members of tho old crernr in these articles, the remainder of the crew took exception to this and refused to sign on.
Negotiations between the interested parties were in progress all day yesterday, and' the time of sailing of the ship had to be postponed every few hours. Eventually a settlement was reached, and it is understood that the three men over whom the dispute arose wero not included in the crew. The arrival of the ship's passengers and cargo at Sydney will not he adversely affected by the delay. ;
