TWO SELECTORS
A decision was made by the New. Zealand Rugby Union's Management Committee last evening that there be. only two New Zealand selectors this season, one from each Island. When ■ the chairman (Mr. S. S. Dean) placed a proposal to this effect before the meeting a question was asked as to what would happen in the event of the selectors disagreeing. : ■ Mr. Dean: "They have disagreed before. You must have an equal number of selectors from each Island." Mr. W. J. Wallace: "You have had two from the North Island and one from the South Island previously." It was agreed that in the event of the two selectors disagreeing the matter be referred to a merriber of the Management Committee. Mr. Wallace, however, considered that it would be unfair to selectors to callin a member of the Management Committee. . Nominations for the positions of selectors are to be called from affiliated unions. With regard to the inter-Island match it was agreed that the two New: Zealand selectors should - act, each ■ choosing his own Island team.
