A FLYWEIGHT FIASCO
.' (Received Gth May, 8 a.m.) LONDON, 5th1 May. At Manchester, Jackio Brown, British flyweight champion, won the European championship, outpointing the Rumanian title-holder, Lucien Popescn. The contest proved a' fiasco for Popeacu was half a pound overweight. An official of the British, Board of Control allowed him an hour in which to rid himself of his overweight, but he refused. Ho entered the ring' only when Brown's manager agreed to waive tho forfeit. The crowd was incensed at the delay.- The fight started .at .10 o'clock, after a heated r discussion .in the dressing-room.
