KIRK-WINDEYER CUP
CONTEST' DEFINITELY OFF
The-suggestion o f the New Zealand Golf Council' that the Kirk-Windeyer Cup contest, which was to have been played in Sydney, should be postponed this year, has been accepted by the New South Wales Golf Council, the secretary of which (.Mr. K. J. Withycombc) has replied as follows to Mr. G. O. Sutton:— '"1 wish to inform you that the suggestion of your association that the KirkWinrloycr Cup mak-iicx for 1!)."3 Ibe postponed was considered .by the council, and it wns decided that your request be acceded t<>. coupled with, the suggestion .1 hat in view of the pusi.pi.'ii'omciit ihn veniic.nl' the, matches in 1!),"'2 should still be in Sydney.
"Naturally all golfers in Australia will be. very Morry to miss-.this vory interesting competition, even if.only for one year, but as you say, the present economic situation is such as to make it' obligatory for the two councils to come to this decision."
