WEDDINGS

The wedding was celebrated recently, at tho Methodist Church, New Lynn, of Elsie Margaret, younger daughter of Mr. and Mra. James Davis, Margan avenue, New Lynn, and the Eev. Herbert W. Hitchcock, minister of Knox Church, Wellington. The church was beautifully decorated. The Eev. W. P. Eankin, M.A., of St. Andrew's Church, performed the ceremony, and was assisted by the Rek C. B. Jorda*n, M.A., B.D. Mr. F. Childs presided at the organ, and Mr. A. Jobson was usher. The bride, who was escorted by hexfather, wore a gown of ivory crepe satin and georgetto, with long, tightfitting bodice and fully-flared skirt. Her embroidered tullo veil, which formed a train, was held ia placa with lace and sprays of orange-blossom, and she carried a shea£ of white gladioli, dahlias, and carnations. Miss Dorothy Hitchcock (sister of the bridegroom) was bridesmaid, wearing a frock of begonia pink georgette, and she carried a bouquet of pink chrysanthemums. Little Nancy Carter, a flower-girl, was. dressed, in a pale-green dross of frilled net with a bonnet to tone, and she carried a basket of pink dahlias. Mi\ Jack Davis (brother of the bride) was best man. - A reception was held at the homo of the brides-parents. The bride's mother, wKo . received the guests, wore a frejek of navy satin beaute and hat to tone. The bridegroom's mother wore a wine and fawn crepe de chine ensemble and black hat.

Brown was best man. Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Stratton later loft for the North by car, the brido travelling in. a winecoloured locknit frock, with black fui coat and hat to tone.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore, a gown of ivory satin cut on long simple lines, the flared.skirt reaching to the.ground. The old Brussels lace veil, which formed the train, was caught across the back of the head with a. half circlet of orange blossom. Her bouquet was of' pink chrysanthemums tied with long: pink streamers. The bridesmaid, Miss Lillias Smith, wore a charming lace gown of eau-de-nil green,.with hat of apricot .shade. She carried a bouquet to tone. Mr. Kenneth Sword waß best man.- The Eev. H. E. K. JTry officiated, and Mr. L. F. Watkins .was at the organ. A reception was afterwards held at the Adelphi Cabaret, where Mrs. Williamson, who roceived the guests, wore a smart navy. l£uco gown} with touches of beige, and a small hat to tone. She carried a posy of carnations. The bridegroom's mother wore a black satin ensemble, with hat to tone, and carried an autumn-tinted posy. > Mrs. A. J. Kireher, sister of the bride, wore black georgetto with lace cape. The bride and groom left later ,by car, tho bride wearing a brown and green twopiece suit with hat to match.
