PLUNKET SOCIETY

GOOD WORK AT KELBURN

The report, of the Kelburn Plunketj Society, presented at the annual meeting, showed that there was a steady increase of work during the year. The number of cases included the following visits to the rooms:—Babies, 546; | adults, 525.. The nurses paid 704 visits to homes. There were 50 new cases during tho year, and thanks., wero ex-, pressed to Nurse Miller for her excellent work. The committee, meetings had been well attended. A. number of successful efforts-to« raise 'funds had. boen made during tho ytar, and £127 Ids. 6d had been paid to the central committee..' Tho dances held in the Kolburn Kiosk had brought in. i£s6 10s, and Mrs. Morgan (Moana road) and friends had sent in a number of knitted garments, which had brought in £5 7s 6d. A "penguin".knitted and donated by Mrs. Zander realised £2 10s. The committee found it very gratifying that so much interest was taken in. tho society. There' were 130 subscribers; who added £63 to the funds. Thanks were oxpressed to tho Kelburn (Anglican) Church authorities, for tho free use of the schoolroom each week; to Mr. J. Darling, for allowing tho display of tho ■ Plunket advertisements' in tho tramway- premises; and to. Messrs. Kirkcaldie and Stains/, for printing advertisements; Mrs.V ; Morgan/ ■ aid friends, Mrs. Zander, and ' M.esdaiiies Widdop and Evans were specially thanked for excellent work. Mrs. Tytho Brown gavb an interesting address on the progress of the Plunket work, during the past twenty years. The committee for tho year was elected, and included Mesdatnes Morpeth, Cramond, Forgie, Jolly,' Bliind^ll, Callonder, Bruton-Smith, Kirkcaldie, Widdop, Mirams, Dinnie;1- Halligaii, Miller, Caughley, Thomas, Morgan, ; Castle, Steele, and Ferguson. Mrs." A. A. Cramond was elected president/ Mrs. H. E. Thomas secretary, and Mrs. C. Mirams treasurer. Mrs. Dallard was in the chair, and there was a good attendance of members.
