ELECTION OF OFFICERS
The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Hutt Valley Branch of the Wellington Eotunied Soldiers' Association, held tit Lower Hutt last week:—President, Mr. E. W. Toomath; vice-presidents, Dr. E. L. Marehant, Messrs. A. T. Duncan, J. W. Andrews, S. M. Hobbs, and L. C. Driver; hon. treasurer, Mr. G. Hayton; hon. secretary, Mr.- E. Peel; executive, Messrs. 11. C. Allison, L. E. Buekeridge G. W. Gray, J. S. Lee, W. J. Ryan, G. N. Taylor, P. M. Terry, H.-Thornally, and F. E. Winnie; delegates to the Wellington Executive, Messrs. G. Hayton and E. Peel.
Appreciation was expressed of the splendid work of the ladies' committee, who had raised the sum of £40 towards the benevolent fund of the branch.
Complimentary reference to the work of the secretary (Mr. L. C. Driver), who had to resign owing to the pressure of other business, was made by the president, Mr. Toomath. In recognition of his excellent services, Mr. Driver was granted an honorarium. He suitably replied.
