FLOOD WATERS

(Koccivcd 23rd April, 1 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Heavy rain is general, and more if expected. Floods are reported in coastal river districts. Flood waters drowned a boy afc Bui* ladclah, made a number of Teralba families leave their homes, and threatened residents at Cessnock. All low-lying areas at Cessnock ar« submerged, and many homes inundated. Fears are entertained for the safety.of two collieries in the Kurri district. Rain continues in these districts. Cockle Creek overflowed its banks, and tho Wallsend storm-water canal also overflowed, flooding low-lying areas. A number of small mines are flooded. Flood warnings have been issued for the North Coast. Shipping has been warned of the cyclonic conditions off the northern coast of South Wales. A south-westerly and 'rough seas slang the coast forced small steamers to shel-. ter. The Union Company's steamer Poolta, which left for New Zealand last night, was forced back ten minute! later. The Christina Fraser is overdue from jSTcwcastle.
