Following a.demand,of too New Zealand Guide Commissioner for the surrender of a captain's commission, -without an explanation being given, tho Chief Commissioner, at a meeting hero on Saturday,, disbanded the local exo.cutivc. Tho Banger and .Guide captains and companies subsequently -resigned as--a protest, against, the action of the Chief Commissioner.. " . - : ' • Last night "a mass meeting -of.- mothevs and.Guirte leaders-passed a-resolu-tion supporting, the Hawera executive and calling on.'the Chief Commissioner to reinstate the executive and officers.
