Hospital estimates, levies, and subsidy for the year ending 31st March, 1932, were adopted at a special meeting of the Wellington Hospital Board to-day. The levies apportioned on (.he eight local authorities amount to £70,----907 16s Id, and the Government subsidy £73,715 3s lid, a total of £144",C 23. ''. ..■■'■■

The total levy for this year i 5.£6595 13s Id less than the amount for . the previous year, even although the Social Welfare estimate has been increased by £15,000. The capital value has increased from £63,732,563 in 1930-31 ho :£66,718,676. The city's share in this year's levy.is £55,973 6s Sd, as against £61,537 19s 4d in the previous year.

'Following is, a statement as to the apportionment of expenditure among contributory local authorities and the payment of subsidy thereon furnished by the.-Hospital Board in accordance with the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, '1909, Amendment Act, 1926, and regulations thereunder:—

Capital Expenditure.—Estimated capital 'expenditure* for year, ending 31st March, 1932, £9414; less assets 31-3----31, £9414. "• " ■■'. '

Other Expenditure.—Estimated expenditure other than capital expenditure for the year ending 31st March, 1932, £199,154; less estimated receipts on account of "other expenditure," vide sections' 46 to 54 of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Amendment Act, 1926, £54,531; total, £144,623; amount apportioned among contributory local authorities, £70,907 16s Id; amount of subsidy which will bo claimed at 20s lOd in the £, vide schedule of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Amendment Act, 1926, £73,715 3s lid; total (to agree with net estimated "other expenditure"), £144,623.
