SUCCESSFUL CROSSING
HONOUR FOR EXPLORER
(British OHcial Wireless.) RUGBY, 18th April. Mr. Bertram Thomas, -who recently accomplished one of the most remarkable pieces of exploration in modern times by his successful crossing of the Buba el-Khali, a little-known desert of Southern Arabia, has reached England, bringing a largo natural history collection which he is handing to the British Museum. Mr. Thomas lias been awarded tho Founder's Medal of the Royal Goographical Society for his work in Arabia.
The first news of Mr. Thomas's success in crossing the Ruba el-Khali with a camel party was received in February. Mr. Thomas, who is financial adviser to the Sultan of Muscat ana Oman, took 58 days for the 900-mile journey. Ho has made other successful exploration tours in the same part of .the world.
