EASTBOURNE REUNION

RETURNED SOLDIERS.

The Eastbourne Returned Soldiers' annual reunion was held in the football gymnasium, Eastbourne, on Saturday evening, and proved one of the moat successful functions yet held. Mr. W. Perry-pre-sided over an attendance of 150 Diggers." During the course of his speech the president stressed the good work being done by tho R.S.A. throughout New Zealand, aud made a special appeal to those present to assist as much an possible in tho various activities ot that body He also pointed out that it was the duty of all Diggers to attend the parade on Anzae Day. Other speakers were Messrs. Walter Nash, M.P., H. M. Jones, Mayor of Eastbourne, Colonel Avery, and Major M'Clurg. Mr. Harison _ Cook sang the llequiem at the conclusion of the silent toast "Departed Comrades, • and Bugler Allott sounded the 'Last lost and "The Reveille." During the evening musical items were given by Messrs. Harison Cook, Dan I,'oley, Ifittem. Bigby, Pinney, Meek, and humorous recitations by Colonel R. Ebert and Mr. Gillon. The singing of t>ou Save the King" brought a most successful function to a conclusion.
