It was only to be expected that teams would not be at the best form, but what was missing in this respect wag made, up in the condition shown. lhe matches were strenuously contested, and. as the -grounds were dry, a fast pace was maintained. ~,. , ' At the Kilbirnie Stadium. Diamond and Waterside played an uneventful first half, but in the second the pace and condition of Diamond told, and they won rather easily. There were occasional flashes of bright play, but generally play was on the dull side. Perhaps a result that was somewhat unexpected was the defeat of Hospital, last year's champions, at the hands of Marist. The game was played at the Hospital ground, Marist winning by the odd goal in three.
