REMEDY FOR WEAKNESS

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HAWERA, This Day. . The: Mangatoki Dairy Company has .circularised; all. other . dairy companies in the .Dominion, 'asking support of a remit to tho National 'Dairy Association conference in Juno expressing dissatisfaction with the present methods of administration .of the industry.. The remit declares that in the past-tue administration has , been ineffective, failing to provide a'truly authoritativo hand to govern internal, as well as export, affairs, also that uncertainties of policy revealed weakness of administration and resulted in the loss of the goodwill of buyers and consumers; that effectivo administration involves the exercise of authority .. and a degree of discipline only applicable by a board elected by the producers with power to control all matters relating to internal as well as export policy.' To this end the remit urges that tho Dairy Board in its present form or reconstituted 6hould bo mado.tho head of the industry with extended powers, and that the conference appoint a coinmitteo to-pre-pare in detail a, new administrative plan, such report to be dealt with before the conclusion of the conference. The circular states that the National Dairy Association lias invited all nonmember companies to bo represented at the conference to discuss and vote upon the proposal. ... ■ ' ■
