Lady Norah Jellicoc, who, after visiting Australia, arrived'at AVcllington by the Makura this morning, will remain in New Zealand for a time as the guest of Their Excellencies the GovernorGeneral and' Lady Bledisloe. Sir Cecil Leys is leaving for the South by the Wahine to-night. Mr. Edward E. Hirst, managing director of the British General Electric Co., Ltd., for Australasia, arrived in. Wellington this morning by the Makura, from Sydney." . , Mr. G. L. Harding, a,member of the British, bowling team in. 1925-26, was a passenger-by the Makura, which airrived in Wellington»this morning from Sydney. Mr. Harding intends making a tour of New Zealand before returning to England. '.-... Mr."W. H. Price, district manager ;of the Union. Company, left Wellington this morning on a motor tour of the North Island. ■ . > ■; Colonel J. M. Skinner, of the Indian Army, arrived in ■ Wellington,this.morning'by the Makura •■ f rom .Sydney. Colonel Skinner is on leave, and intends making a tour of New Zealand. Tho Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) leaves Wellington to-day for Blenheim and Nelson, to preside at the sittings of the Supreme Court.in. those towns. On Saturday last, at the head office of the Tramways and Electricity Departments, a presentation was made to Mr. Boss M'Coll (son of _ Mr. Pv .M'Coll, power stations superintendent), on the occasion of his approaching marriage. Mr. M.' Cable, general manager, in making the presentation, spoke of the excellent qualities of Mr. M'Coll and the high esteem in which ho was held. Mr. E. O. Peterson, assistant general manager, added that Mr. M'Coll was one of the most popular members of the staff. ; Engineer Bear-Admiral E. D. Sydenham,: C.8.E., of the Boyal Navy, a • figure well-known in: New Zealand before the Great War broke out, was a pas-: sengor by the Makura, which arrived in Wellington this morning from Sydney. Admiral Sydenham was stationed in New Zealand from 1910 to 1913, and during that time was responsible for the supply 'of futl-' to the Eoyal Navy, the headquarters of which-were in Australia at that time. Forthe last .seven years he has been director of engineering and construction to the Commonwealth Naval Board in Australia. He has now relinquished that appointment, and is at present on leave. Admiral Sydenham, who is accompanied : by Mrs. Sydonham, intends, spendingthree or four months in Now: Zealand.
