RAIN COMING
MORE DEPRESSIONS
Yesterday's weather was fair to fine generally, fortunately for holidaymakers, winds being light and variable. Since last night, however, tho anticyclone covering the Dominion, has moved eastward, and barometers arc now falling owing to the advance of depressions over the northern and southern Tasman Sou. To-day northeasterly or northerly winds are in evidence, with considerably more cloud than yesterday. Isolated showers fell yesterday in western and far southern districts, and at 9 a.m. to-day it was raining in a few places in the north of the North Island. Auckland experienced dull weather yesterday,. with light showers and a light southerly wind. In Wellington it was fine, although cloudy, the wind being a light northerly. Christchureh had a sunny morning, but the afternoon was overcast. In Dunedin tho position was reversed, an unsettled and showery morning being followed by a fine and pleasant afternoon. Moderate to strong north-easterly or northerly winds will change to southwesterlies after about 24 hours, according to to-day's forecast. Dull, hazy, and misty weather may be expected, with rain developing. The North Island is likely to be most affected, and in the Auckland Province some of the falls may be heavy.
