The only development of the Southern Cloud search is a b&latea report by several apprentice jockeys at Mentone, a suburb of Melbourne, that they, heard the drone of a triple-engine aeroplane overhead in the mist on the afternoon the air-liner disappeared. Menton9 is on the foreshore of Port Philip Bay.
